Vision For Access CIC

Access Assured Verification Scheme

Our Accessibility Verification Scheme recognises websites and digital services that meet essential accessibility standards for people with sight loss. Verified organisations receive a badge demonstrating their commitment to inclusive design and accessible experiences for all users.

About the verification

Vision for Access Accessibility Verification Scheme, a trusted validation framework recognising organisations that are actively improving accessibility for people with sight loss.

To earn our badges, the recipient undergoes an accessibility audit conducted by Vision for Access CIC. Our verification process checks for key inclusive design principles, including:

  • Navigability using screen readers and keyboard only
  • Clear, consistent structure and layout
  • Use of alt text and meaningful link text
  • Sufficient contrast between text and background colours
  • An accessibility statement or user support information

Working Towards Sight Loss Accessibility

This badge recognises an organisation’s commitment to beginning their journey towards making their services, spaces, or communications more accessible for people with sight loss. It is not a certification of full accessibility but instead confirms that meaningful first steps have been taken, such as:

  • Engaging with Vision for Access for advice, an audit, or training
  • Reviewing or beginning to revise accessibility policies and practices
  • Creating an action plan or committing to improvements
  • Raising awareness of sight loss accessibility within their team or organisation
