About the Organisation

StudyStash is an innovative EdTech platform that combines artificial intelligence (AI) and neuroscience principles to deliver a personalised study experience for its users. It helps to reduce operational costs by improving student retention and enabling scalable, high-impact teaching.

The Challenge

The team at StudyStash wanted to ensure their website was welcoming and accessible to all learners, including those with visual impairments. While they had worked hard to create engaging content and an easy-to-use platform, they recognised that hidden accessibility barriers can often go unnoticed without specialist insight.

They were keen to understand how their website performed against accessibility best practices and to identify practical improvements that would make a real difference to users. Their aim was not only to meet recognised accessibility standards but also to demonstrate their commitment to inclusion and ensure every learner could fully benefit from their resources.

Our Approach

We carried out a comprehensive accessibility audit focusing on the needs of people with sight loss.

Our process included:

  • Manual testing with screen readers (NVDA and JAWS)
  • Reviewing colour contrast, heading structure, and alt text
  • Checking keyboard-only navigation and focus order
  • Compiling a clear, jargon-free report with practical recommendations
  • A follow-up email to offer support and clarification

The Results

The audit gave StudyStash a clear picture of how their website measured up against accessibility best practices and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). By identifying both strengths and areas for improvement, the review provided reassurance that they were on the right track while also highlighting practical next steps.

The detailed, actionable recommendations enabled the StudyStash team to immediately begin implementing changes, incorporating them into their broader accessibility roadmap. This not only helped them prioritise improvements but also deepened their understanding of how to build inclusivity into their digital offer.

As a result, StudyStash is now better equipped to create an experience that is genuinely accessible to all, reinforcing its commitment to inclusion and giving it confidence in the accessibility of its website moving forward.

What They Said

“We are delighted to have had the chance to work with Mark from Vision for Access CIC. The Tier 1 audit was extremely thorough and helped us align with WCAG standards while also deepening our understanding of the importance of making our site accessible to all. Mark’s audit went beyond theory, providing us with actionable insights that we have added to our accessibility roadmap.”
